Children's Data Notice

1. Parent-managed use

A parent creates and manages child profiles. The app asks for nickname/display name, age, grade or Class and an optional avatar. It stores practice and family activities linked to that profile. Parent access is limited to their family through account and ownership controls. We do not provide public child profiles, advertising feeds or child-to-stranger messaging in the inspected app.

A child may need a simple explanation: your parent can see which games you played and your practice records. Eligible teens can use a linked login; parents see tool usage and a fixed safety-stop note, not the teen's typed notes. Model-service processing still occurs for tool notes; it is not private from the external processor.

2. Consent is a launch requirement, not an invented check

The current app verifies an account email and records parent-created family links. It does not implement identity/document checks or another reviewed method proving the adult is a parent. Email confirmation and a checkbox alone must not be represented as verifiable parental consent.

Where verifiable consent is legally required, an appropriate notice, approved verification method, recorded purpose/scope and withdrawal process must be reviewed and implemented before covered child data collection. Contact hello@attentivekids.com for the current position. This page does not authorise use that local law would prohibit.

3. United States

The FTC children's privacy rule generally requires covered child-directed services, or services with relevant actual knowledge, to obtain verifiable parental consent before covered collection, use or disclosure of personal information from children under 13. It includes notice and parent access/deletion rights, with specific exceptions.

Our family-account controls are not a claim that a COPPA-style consent workflow has been approved or completed. A legal review must determine applicability, the specific verification method and whether each data use is permitted.

4. United Kingdom

The UK Children's Code concerns services likely to be accessed by children and includes children's best interests, age-appropriate transparency, high-privacy defaults and data minimisation. It is not simply a parental-email rule.

We provide grade-based material and family access controls, but no Code compliance badge or assurance is claimed. Review must cover the design, age assurance, defaults, profiling and model-service processing.

5. India

India's DPDP framework defines a child as under 18 and provides for verifiable parental consent subject to applicable provisions and exceptions. The 2025 commencement framework phases in obligations; the child-processing provisions are scheduled after the initial commencement period. As of this draft date, applicability and later notifications must be checked rather than described as all already in force.

A linked teen aged 13+ is an app eligibility choice, not an exemption from Indian child-data requirements. A legally appropriate verifiable parental-consent process is not implemented by the current family signup flow. Our review must determine the necessary adult/parent verification and data-purpose records.

6. UAE

UAE data protection and child digital-safety laws can apply differently depending on the service, location and exemptions. The child digital-safety framework has specific restrictions and should not be reduced to a single universal consent age.

No UAE compliance assurance, local hosting promise or blanket parental-consent exemption is made. Legal review must determine whether this family service can be offered to a particular child and which consent, age assurance and international-transfer rules apply.

7. Requests, withdrawal and safety

Parents can manage a child profile, revoke a linked teen login and use the account deletion control. Revoking a teen login retains practice history with the parent. Contact hello@attentivekids.com for access, correction, broader deletion or a consent withdrawal request. Financial and supplier-held records may have separate retention requirements.

A safety stop sends only fixed calm text to the parent. It does not disclose the child's typed study notes. In an urgent safety situation do not rely on the app; use local support or emergency services. The tool's screening is not a guarantee that every concern will be identified.
